This unique beach cottage property in Heceta Beach, Florence, Oregon is the ideal place for those who appreciate rustic yet modern accommodations, stylish decor, and thoughtful indoor / outdoor amenities. There really is no other place quite like this property in the Heceta Beach area. It is serene, private, and secluded, yet you can walk to the beach and two different popular eateries in just a couple of minutes, and charming 'Old Town' Florence and other popular local attractions are less than a 10-minute car drive away. We (the owners) live in a separate house on the opposite side of the property for better service and your privacy is ensured (only a breezeway connects the two houses today).

The Cottage includes an attached garage for parking; a clean and bright kitchenette; a 3rd floor loft with ocean views; a charming 2nd floor living / dining area with wood-burning stove; and a spacious 1st floor Master Suite with Queen Bed and Bath that attaches to a private courtyard / hot tub area. *NOTE: As described above, a second Master Suite with Queen Bed and Bath will be made available if you are bringing more than one guest (see photo descriptions).

The Kitchenette: If you'd like to cook and eat in, the Cottage's serviceable galley-style kitchenette has many cooking appliances, including an Electric Toaster Oven with 13" Pizza Stone; an Electric Skillet; an 'Instant Pot'; a Crock Pot; etc. There is a mini-fridge in the kitchenette and a full-sized refrigerator right outside the kitchenette door (in the garage) for perishables.

Other Things To Note

-Our property insurer requires that our guests be at least 28 years old to rent the Cottage.
-The only cell service on the property is Verizon. There is no landline, but there is free, secure WiFi and the connection is very fast.
-The cleaning fee includes careful maintenance of the hot tub between guests.
-We live on the South side of this large property with our two well behaved dogs in separate house for better service. The two houses are connected by a breezeway. Guests have their own garage, hot water tank, etc. The dogs are kept separate from guests unless you'd like to meet them.
-There is no washer or dryer in the Cottage but there are two laundromats that are just a short drive away.
-The cheery galley-style kitchenette is small but serviceable and loaded with appliances for cooking. It does not have a stove. The fridge is a mini-fridge and there is now also a full-sized refrigerator in the garage adjoining the kitchenette to accommodate more groceries during longer stays.
-The 6-person dining table is on the second floor. There is a two-person dining table in the first floor Master Suite, and another two-person table in the hot tub courtyard area, as well as chairs and table on the patio and in the sun-room.
- The Cottage is located about 300 feet from the beach on an after-dune. This means we are sheltered from some of the heavier winds that Heceta Beach at times experiences, yet you can walk to the beach easily in just a couple of minutes. There are ocean views from the 3rd floor loft but we are not beachfront.

Additional Features:

You will have exclusive use of half of this 1/3rd acre property 300 feet from Heceta Beach, with all related indoor / outdoor amenities, including a private hot tub; sun-room; patio / grill; and outdoor firepit.

Already making a big splash on the central Oregon coast near Florence is a new vacation rental lodging called Heceta Beach Vacation Cottage, which was until very recently simply called Sapphire Sands Vacation Suite. After opening in June, already owner Rebecca Mandeville has expanded. Sapphire Sands opened to rave reviews, even as a tiny bit of luxury a couple hundred feet from the beach. But it just got bigger.

Now, Mandeville has changed the overall name to Heceta Beach Vacation Cottage to encompass new rental configurations that sleep up to 5 people.

At the northern end of Florence, above Heceta Beach.

Where to eat

“This vacation rental is INCREDIBLE! The space is clean, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything you could ever need. The beds were very comfortable and the cozy robes and towels made us feel as if we were staying in a luxury hotel. The hot tub is roomy and clean, and in a cute breezeway connecting the houses. My favorite part was probably the adorable sun-room - a perfect spot for reading when you wake up earlier than your housemates! The proximity to the beach is fantastic - only a few minutes of walking along a nice trail just behind the house and you are smack dab in the middle of Heceta Beach, which was gorgeous and not overly crowded. I appreciated Rebecca's attention to detail, her prompt communication, and her obvious passion for pleasing her guests. We also went for a horseback ride on the beach. It was fantastic; the cherry on top to a truly wonderful weekend! We will be back again soon, I'm sure!”
